Court rules out some life sentences for juveniles

The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is holding its 72nd session in Geneva, Switzerland this week to review anti-discrimination efforts undertaken by various parties to the Convention, including the United States. The 18-member Committee will review the report submitted by the U.S. State Department on the government's efforts to comply with the Convention. Government representatives will be on hand to answer the Committee's questions as well.

The Children and Family Justice Center (CFJC) is a comprehensive children's law center where law students, under the supervision of attorneys and clinical professors, represent young people on matters of delinquency and crime, family violence, school discipline, health and disability, and immigration and asylum. CFJC collaborates with communities and child welfare, educational, mental health and juvenile justice systems to develop fair and effective policies and solutions for reform.
